  Ad Astra Theatre School

is now in its 12th year !

 With children starring in

 West End  shows.

Fiona Edwards from "WE WILL ROCK YOU" and her husband Jeff Edwards from "CHICAGO" in London’s West End ,founded Ad Astra Theatre School in 2009.

“Training by the professionals of today”

We provide a stimulating and friendly environment for all young people aging from 3yrs – 18yrs with an interest in the performing arts. Whatever your ability we always make sure we have loads of fun and enjoyment. Workshops will be held by professional performers from London’s West End and Television.

Confidence

Ad Astra Theatre School is a great way for your child to boost their confidence.  We allow all our children to do as little or as much as they want and encourage them to express themselves both physically and verbally.  Even if your child is slightly inhibited or a little shy it won’t be long before they are standing up in front of an audience singing their heart out.

At the age of 11, I attended Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and trained there full time until graduating. As a child I worked on the first Harry Potter movie and sang with Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. I was a soloist at the Millennium Service at St Pauls Cathedral and appeared in various TV shows and commercials. Since graduating, I have taught at Italia Conti Associates, worked with the record producer William Orbit, been a backing singer/dancer to Kelly Osbourne and worked with Madonna on her film Filth and Wisdom. My professional stage performances have included the Rod Stewart Musical “Tonight’s the Night” and “We Will Rock You” in London West End.

Musical theatre has always been my passion and Ad Astra Theatre School is my opportunity to pass on my love of the performing arts to its students. My aim is for the children of Ad Astra Theatre School to benefit from training by the professionals of today.

I trained at Lewisham College gaining a three year Diploma in Dance and then went onto a further three year course at Millennium Dance 2000 where I gained a Diploma in Musical Theatre. Coming straight out of college I landed my first role playing Fred Casley in the West End hit musical “Chicago”, a role I subsequently returned to in later years. From there I joined the Rod Stewart Musical “Tonight’s the Night” at the Victoria Palace Theatre where I played the lead role of Stoner. TV appearances include “A Life Begins” (Caroline Quentin) and “Blessed” (directed by Ben Elton) together with various commercials.

Ad Astra Theatre School is my opportunity to give back and share the teaching and wonderful experiences that I’ve had the pleasure of being part of.
